This Casual Cook position serves 57 AVENS residents from a brand new, state-of-the-art kitchen. The Cook reports to the Food Services Manager and prepares healthy, nutritious meals. Special diets and institutional cooking are central to the stated responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Cook healthy meals for AVENS residents
Prepare nutritious food for 57 residents
Consider special diets in meal preparation
Deliver institutional cooking services in the kitchen
Requirements: Completion of a culinary program
Two or more years commercial or institutional cooking experience
Experience with elderly residents is an asset
Valid Food Protected and WHMIS 2015 certifications are assets
Successfully obtain required Vulnerable Sector check
Use culinary skills, resident-focused preparation, and dietary awareness to contribute nutritious meals within AVENS’ Food Services team.
