Rehabilitation-focused Recreation Therapist develops recovery-oriented care for mental health clients. Bring therapeutic recreation experience, community knowledge, and team-oriented clinical communication.
As part of Fraser Health’s community-based care team, you will plan, implement, document, and evaluate recreation programs. The position addresses clients’ diverse needs while restoring leisure functioning and psychosocial health. You will also share expertise with health professionals and contribute to program quality.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and evaluate meaningful recreation programs and leisure activities
Assess client conditions, abilities, interests, and goals
Educate clients and health professionals about leisure resources
Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and quality improvement




Maintain current evidence-based therapeutic recreation knowledge
Requirements: Three years recent recreation therapy experience with mental health clients
Eligible for British Columbia Therapeutic Recreation Association membership
Knowledge of other health disciplines’ scopes of practice
Strong referral and collaboration skills with community services
Physical ability to perform the duties of the role
Deliver evidence-based recreation therapy, interdisciplinary education, and recovery-focused rehabilitation for Fraser Health mental health clients.
