Gibson seeks a Lab Technician for its Hardisty department and Edmonton Terminal Lab. The position performs petroleum sample testing, maintains laboratory instruments, verifies calibration, and records results. You will also support sampling, customer communication, LIMS data entry, and secure laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities: Perform petroleum tests including sulfur, viscosity, and gas chromatography
Collect samples from trucks, pipelines, and terminal facilities
Maintain and verify laboratory instrument calibration
Develop and update laboratory standard operating procedures
Review and enter data into LIMS and customer tickets
Requirements: Chemical Technology Diploma or equivalent education
Minimum two years petroleum testing laboratory experience
Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word competency
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Knowledge of API, ASTM, and instrument procedures
