Design and review sophisticated fire protection systems with HDR in Toronto, Ontario, or other listed Canadian locations. Apply Revit coordination, NFPA standards, and construction expertise.
As a Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and assigned staff. Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines while supporting AHJ interactions, permits, clients, and construction teams. Preferred experience includes special hazards, FM Global requirements, BIM coordination, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare coordinated fire protection drawings and specifications
Conduct site reviews and visit project sites as required
Respond to RFIs and review shop drawings




Support AHJ interactions and permit submissions
Monitor assigned project schedules and budgets
Requirements: Minimum 10 years of fire protection design experience
Bachelor's degree in fire protection, mechanical, or electrical engineering
Skilled engineering license recognized for the offered location
Five years preferred in data centre or specialized facilities
Preferred Revit, BIM, FM Global, or construction administration experience
Bring fire protection design, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction support experience to HDR's building engineering practice.
