This Reading Assistant collaborates with classroom teachers to co-plan and co-deliver standards-based literacy instruction across primary grade levels. The position participates in Skilled Learning Communities, discusses data, and aligns instructional practices with team goals. It also supports students with special needs and classroom learning.
Key Responsibilities: Co-plan standards-based literacy instruction with classroom teachers
Co-deliver primary-grade reading instruction and interventions
Reinforce reading and language arts individually or in groups




Participate in Science of Reading professional development
Document student learning and performance through records
Requirements: Meet Highly Qualified IA guidelines
Complete 60 college credit hours with transcripts
Earn a ParaPro PRAXIS score of 460 or greater
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Apply reading instruction, intervention, collaboration, and student support skills as a Reading Assistant serving primary learners.
