Work with current applications and provincial referrals as a permanent, full-time RDKB Planner. Serve the public and development community.
Reporting to the Current Planning Supervisor, this position contributes to the Planning and Development Department team. The Planner answers varied planning questions, processes applications, and provides customer service connected with development. The position may occasionally involve public engagement outside regular working hours.
Key Responsibilities: Process applications within current planning services
Review and manage provincial referrals
Answer wide-ranging planning questions from the public
Assist the development community with planning inquiries
Work occasional public engagement hours as required
Requirements: Recognized university bachelor degree in Planning or related field
Minimum one year of planning office experience
Preferred experience with local government
Eligible membership with recognized planning institutes
Microsoft suite proficiency and Class 5 BC Driver’s License
Use planning education, referral experience, and customer service skills to support RDKB applications and development community inquiries.
