Support therapeutic recreation at Covenant Care by planning programs and promoting resident participation with compassion and collaboration. This position works with the healthcare team.
Reporting to the Recreational Therapist, the Recreation Assistant helps plan, implement, and evaluate recreation and leisure programs. Programs address residents’ physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs. The position also reflects Covenant Care’s mission, vision, values, and ethical traditions in daily decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with planning recreation and leisure programs
Implement programs addressing residents’ varied needs and interests
Evaluate recreation and leisure programming




Promote resident awareness and participation in programs
Collaborate with the healthcare team on opportunities
Requirements: Recreation Aide Certificate or Diploma required
Valid Class 4 driver’s license required
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Positive working relations with staff, public, and agencies
One to two years’ therapeutic recreation experience preferred
Bring therapeutic recreation training, healthcare collaboration, and compassionate program support to Covenant Care residents and their interests.
