Apply journeyperson bricklaying expertise at UBC, repairing and constructing masonry across campus buildings under general supervision.
As a Trades 2 Bricklayer, you will support UBC Building Operations through skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work. Your assignments include brick, stone, concrete, and tile, plus structural and non-structural walls, fireplaces, furnaces, kilns, and ornamental details. You will determine work methods using trade knowledge and approved procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Repair and construct brick, stone, concrete, and tile features
Request materials and equipment for assigned work
Prepare estimates and produce inspection reports
Apply caulking compounds and masonry sealers
Perform emergency call-outs and related qualified duties
Requirements: Journeyperson trade certification as a Bricklayer
Valid British Columbia driver's licence
Minimum five years of related experience
Working knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
Ability to interpret specifications and work from scaffolding
Bring certified bricklaying, sound judgment, and masonry repair skills to UBC Building Operations and campus facilities.
