Work at Canadian Blood Services mobile donor centres in Nanaimo as a Casual Associate supporting phlebotomy, screening, and donor care.
The Collections team collects blood and components safely for patients needing lifesaving products. You will help deliver positive donor experiences through effective communication, privacy-conscious screening, and attentive care. Mobile events require setup assistance, community travel, adaptable assigned shifts, and lifting supplies or equipment over 10 kilograms.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with booths, tables, and mobile clinic equipment
Conduct donor registration and eligibility screening
Monitor donors during venipuncture for safety and comfort
Handle blood products according to established procedures




Prepare products and maintain accurate information
Requirements: High school diploma; further education is an asset
Phlebotomy program completion or one-year related experience
Minimum three years in customer-focused public service
Flexibility to accommodate operationally assigned shift times
Ability to lift supplies and equipment exceeding 10 kilograms
Bring donor service, phlebotomy training, and operational flexibility to mobile blood collection events throughout Nanaimo communities.
