YSM seeks a part-time Kitchen Assistant for 16 hours weekly, including 15 kitchen hours and one staff-meeting hour. The position develops kitchen skills while supporting relationships with staff, parents, and children. Nutritious food helps children thrive.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver portioned food and snacks to daycare classrooms
Prepare fruit, vegetables, snacks, and heated food
Follow public health regulations and daycare best practices
Store and dispose of food safely
Wash, sanitize, and clean kitchen equipment and dishware
Requirements: Food Handler Certification, CPR, and First Aid
Ability to follow instructions consistently
Robust interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Good English skills in speaking and writing
