This Heavy Duty Mechanic position suits a Journeyman or 3rd Year Apprentice supporting Barnhart’s specialized fleet. Responsibilities include rough and all terrain cranes, crawlers, trailers, trucks, and support equipment. Most work occurs independently in the shop, occasionally outdoors, within a small experienced team.
Key Responsibilities: Service cranes, trailers, trucks, and support equipment
Complete annual preventative maintenance and crane certifications
Repair brakes, tires, suspensions, hoses, and seals




Collaborate with operators to identify equipment issues early
Conduct shop safety audits and promote safety-first practices
Requirements: 3rd Year Apprentice or Journeyman certification required
Experience with heavy equipment or cranes preferred
Diagnostics experience involving electrical and fuel systems
Ability to work independently and own assigned tasks
Valid driver’s license
Bring crane maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and safety-focused repair skills to Barnhart’s Grande Prairie maintenance team.
