Baycrest Hospital seeks a Food Service Aide skilled in protected food preparation, therapeutic diets, and courteous service for patients and residents.
This temporary part-time position supports Food and Nutrition Services across Baycrest Hospital, the Apotex Jewish Home for the Aged, and day centres. The role requires food preparation, sanitation, equipment care, and service according to preferences, therapeutic diets, and Kashruth laws. Day-evening shifts include every weekend.
Key Responsibilities: Portion food accurately according to production orders
Serve residents according to therapeutic diets and preferences
Maintain nourishment carts, supplies, and equipment
Collect dishes and operate the dish machine
Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas
Requirements: High school completion or equivalent
Current Public Health Food Handlers Certification
One year food service experience preferred
Knowledge of sanitation and food service equipment
Effective English communication and customer service skills
