Support employees during medical absences by analyzing disability benefits, reviewing medical information, and making timely entitlement decisions. This RWAM position is based in Elmira.
As a Disability Claims Manager, you will manage claims fairly and consistently while considering recovery and return to work. The work involves interpreting complex medical details and contractual language, assessing supporting information, and communicating through thorough phone interviews. Collaboration with RWAM’s Rehabilitation Specialists helps establish recovery plans, while employer, carrier, and practitioner liaison supports claim management.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze initial and ongoing STD and LTD entitlement
Assess medical information supporting disability claims




Interview claimants about details of workplace absences
Support employee recovery and return to work
Liaise with employers, carriers, and medical practitioners
Requirements: Critical thinking and timely decision-making ability
Solid listening and communication skills
Ability to consider medical details and contracts
Post-secondary degree or healthcare-related practical experience
French language is an asset
