Maintain Meaford’s parks, trails, and open spaces through grass cutting, repairs, and equipment operation. The full time permanent position serves Community Services.
As an Operator reporting to the Supervisor, Parks, Trails and Open Spaces, you will complete daily maintenance and respond to seasonal operational needs. Responsibilities cover weed trimming, tree cutting, brush removal, garbage collection, washroom cleaning, flower beds, playgrounds, trails, snow clearing, and de-icing. You will also maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment while completing required records.
Key Responsibilities: Complete scheduled and unplanned parks, trails, and open spaces maintenance
Operate chainsaws, weed eaters, lawnmowers, snow blowers, and washers
Perform carpentry, property, vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance
Clear parking lots,



groom trails, and complete winter de-icing
Notify supervisors through accident reports and required maintenance documentation
Requirements: Relevant municipal recreation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough knowledge of WHMIS and maintenance operations
Proven ability to operate small and medium-sized equipment and vehicles
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
Ability to work safely in weather, noise, dirt, and mud
Bring practical maintenance, vehicle operation, record keeping, and safe work skills to Meaford’s municipal outdoor spaces.
