Support cytology and pathology services as a casual Laboratory Technician at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario, with specimen processing expertise.
This permanent casual position provides qualified laboratory service through surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimen accessioning and processing. Under supervision, the technician also completes quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory, and other laboratory functions. Certification through MLPAO or CSMLS is required.
Key Responsibilities: Process cytology, surgical, and flow cytometry specimens
Complete accessioning using established Standard Operating Procedures
Conduct quality control activities accurately and efficiently
Perform equipment maintenance and inventory work
Support training for staff and students
Requirements: Required MLPAO or CSMLS certification
Preferred experience in a hospital pathology laboratory
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to recognize and solve problems effectively
Commitment to accurate, efficient laboratory work
