Support clean, functional schools with The Upper Canada District School Board as a Custodian using cleaning and maintenance skills. Worksite assignments may span multiple schools.
Under Facilities Operations Manager supervision and Head or Lead Custodian direction, the Custodian maintains building appearance and operates a specific worksite. Duties include custodial cleaning, floor care, supplies, waste removal, equipment operation, furniture movement, and preventative maintenance. The position works independently and with custodial teams across multiple worksites.
Key Responsibilities: Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, washrooms, and floors
Strip, wax, surface clean, buff, and polish floors
Replenish supplies, empty waste baskets, and remove trash




Operate cleaning equipment and move furniture or supplies
Perform painting, repairs, adjustments, and assigned building maintenance
Requirements: Secondary school diploma and six months school cleaning experience
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Basic cleaning, painting, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge
Ability to use ladders, lifts, and cleaning equipment safely
Ability to work independently and within custodial teams
Bring school cleaning, equipment operation, and preventative maintenance skills to support UCDSB worksites and their daily operations.
