Provide skilled nursing care with Island Health across rotating day and night shifts, using the nursing process in medical, surgical, and emergency settings.
Reporting to the Rural Health Manager, this Registered Nurse coordinates and administers direct patient care within a multidisciplinary team. The position provides direction to staff and volunteers while supporting patient and staff safety. Emergency response and quality improvement remain central to the work.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and administer direct patient care
Apply the nursing process to assigned patients
Provide direction to staff and volunteers
Respond appropriately during emergency situations
Support continuous quality and safety improvement
Requirements: Registration as a practicing RN with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
Two years recent related medical, surgical, and emergency experience
Basic Life Support, Level C certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred for Emergency Room
Valid BC Driver's License
Bring organized nursing practice, effective communication, and emergency response skills to Island Health's multidisciplinary patient care team.
