Lead audit, review, and compilation work for Stern Cohen LLP’s privately held and not-for-profit clients in Toronto. This full-time position includes two weekly office days.
The Experienced Senior Accountant supports the Assurance Team across assurance, compilation, and tax engagements. Reporting to managers, you will communicate with clients, partners, and staff while understanding business needs and meeting approved budgets and timelines. Your work includes preparing financial statements, identifying accounting issues, and maintaining current Canadian accounting standards knowledge.
Key Responsibilities: Execute audit and review engagements
Prepare and complete engagement planning documents
Identify accounting issues and coordinate solutions




Correspond with clients and anticipate their needs
Maintain accounting standards and tax knowledge
Requirements: CPA designation required
Two years’ senior experience in public accounting
Experience with small business or entrepreneurial clients preferred
Robust verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Use audit leadership, client communication, and accounting standards knowledge across Stern Cohen’s Toronto assurance engagements.
