Vancouver General Hospital seeks a Food Service Worker skilled in meal service, diet accuracy, and Food Safe protocols in Vancouver, BC.
Working with Vancouver Coastal Health’s Food Services team, this position supports patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff. Reporting to Food Services leadership, the worker portions meals, prepares food items, and maintains clean, secure service areas. Duties follow quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: Portion and serve meals according to dietary requirements
Prepare sandwiches, salads, desserts, coffee, tea, and toast
Check patient and resident trays for dietary accuracy
Wash dishes, clean equipment, and sanitize service areas
Deliver trays and replenish food and paper supplies
Requirements: Grade 10 and one year of recent related experience
Equivalent education, training, and experience combination accepted
Food Safe Certificate Level 1
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Physical ability to perform position duties
Support hospital meal service through careful food preparation, dietary accuracy, equipment operation, and patient-focused delivery at Vancouver General Hospital.
