This Security Skilled assignment combines surveillance, patrols, communications, and incident reporting. Responsibilities include identifying hazards, preventing crime, providing visual deterrence, and escalating incidents appropriately. The position also requires liaison with emergency services and customer service for library visitors.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor CCTV and conduct regular site patrols
Provide visual deterrence and support crime prevention
Manage access control and customer service interactions
Escalate incidents through radio and digital communications
Liaise with emergency services during incidents
Requirements: Valid BC Security License with BST
Occupational First Aid Level 2 or intermediate certification
Minimum three years’ security industry experience required
Minimum one year of customer service experience
Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
Use surveillance, patrol, communication, and emergency liaison skills as a Security Professional at Vancouver Public Library.
