The Lead Professional – Mechanical is a senior individual contributor focused on technical delivery, project ownership, and professional mentorship. You will perform heating and cooling loads, ventilation and air balance calculations, ductwork and piping sizing, and energy modelling. The work supports commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial projects, including retrofit programs.
Key Responsibilities: Own mechanical scope, schedule, quality, and delivery
Oversee loads, ventilation, air balance, and sizing calculations
Contribute to energy modelling and performance-based design
Prepare design briefs, specifications, drawings,



and construction documents
Mentor junior and intermediate mechanical professionals
Requirements: Eight to twelve years of professional experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
Skilled Engineer designation and Canadian jurisdictional licensure
Extensive mechanical building systems design experience
Strong technical analysis and problem-solving capabilities
Use mechanical building systems expertise, energy modelling, and technical mentorship to deliver coordinated designs through WSP.
