Develop manufacturing test automation for Lumentum’s photonics systems, integrating optical instruments, motion control, cameras, and software.
This engineer owns projects from specifications through deployment in a hardware workplace. The work includes test automation, process automation, machine vision, measurement, and analytics. You will collaborate with design, process, manufacturing, and production teams while working directly with equipment in the lab and on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities: Translate specifications into requirements and reviewed designs
Build automated test systems for production equipment
Connect power supplies, laser sources, and optical instruments
Communicate requirements, designs, and results clearly




Document and deploy completed manufacturing solutions
Requirements: Five or more years of hardware-environment engineering experience
Degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, or similar
Programming strength and comfort with the primary technology stack
Ability to deliver projects with minimal direction
Practical understanding of production uptime and repeatability
Bring test engineering, equipment integration, and production judgment to Lumentum’s photonics manufacturing automation.
