As Director of Construction, you will guide multiple project managers, superintendents, and support staff through project execution. The role focuses on operational standards, workload planning, contractual responsibilities, resource alignment, and collaboration with the VP of Operations. Solid stakeholder relationships remain central.
Key Responsibilities: Develop project plans, schedules, reporting procedures, and protocols
Monitor progress, costs, budgets, profitability, and safety
Review and negotiate subcontracts and major purchase orders
Assess scope changes and negotiate owner change orders




Establish site quality control and action teams
Requirements: Minimum five years managing commercial construction projects
Management experience with a mid to large general contractor
Understanding of construction trades and techniques
Knowledge of workplace regulations and Building Codes
Familiarity with project accounting systems; Viewpoint is an asset
Use construction operations expertise, project accounting knowledge, and cost management skills to strengthen Fortis delivery standards.
