The Director of Building Services leads reliable infrastructure performance within a recent retirement residence. This leadership role oversees maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry while establishing operational standards and preventative maintenance routines. Success requires vendor coordination, budget management, regulatory knowledge, and professional issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee infrastructure with contractors and internal teams
Manage life safety systems and emergency preparedness procedures
Establish inspections, testing, documentation, and preventative maintenance
Support capital projects, quotes, tendering, and execution oversight




Resolve operational issues with residence leadership and department heads
Requirements: Building Operators Certificate or recognized skilled trade through Ontario colleges
Five years’ management experience in facilities, hospitality, or senior living
Experience in regulated healthcare or senior-living environments preferred
Knowledge of geothermal, HVAC, generators, elevators, and security systems
Proficiency in facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite
