Lead heavy duty mechanic work in Coquitlam, BC, diagnosing CNG and diesel engines alongside advanced electrical and hydraulic systems.
GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic to safely repair and maintain commercial diesel and alternative fuel trucks and heavy equipment. You will provide daily functional direction, complete preventive maintenance, and support reliable fleet operation. The work includes diagnostics, inspections, documentation, scheduling, and apprentice mentorship.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair complex CNG and diesel engines
Repair advanced electrical and hydraulic systems
Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
Plan and schedule work as required
Mentor apprentices and provide apprenticeship training
Requirements: Journeyman designation
Valid driver’s license
Own tools and willingness to acquire required tools
Red Seal preferred, especially with leadership experience
Ability to perform CVIP inspections
Apply heavy duty diagnostics, maintenance, and leadership skills while supporting GFL Environmental’s commercial fleet in Coquitlam.
