Shape enterprise privacy programs, data governance, and regulatory compliance for Vancity and VCIB from Vancity’s head office in a hybrid arrangement.
The Director, Privacy serves as Chief Privacy Officer and senior privacy authority. This leader establishes strategic priorities, oversees privacy impact assessments and consent management, and reports on program effectiveness. The full time, permanent position advises senior leadership in a complex, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee enterprise privacy management across Vancity and VCIB
Develop privacy-by-design, consent management, and data governance initiatives
Report privacy effectiveness, exposure, and progress to senior leadership
Manage regulator engagement on material privacy matters




Build organizational privacy capability and lead a high-performing team
Requirements: 10+ years’ progressive privacy, compliance, legal, or regulatory experience
5+ years’ senior leadership directing enterprise privacy programs
Experience implementing privacy management programs and risk frameworks
Experience advising executives, boards, regulators, and committees
Professional designation such as CIPP/C, CIPM, CIPP/E, FIP, or CRM considered an asset
Use privacy governance, data stewardship, and leadership expertise to strengthen Vancity’s enterprise privacy program.
