As a Staff Software Engineer on the AI Enabled Software Engineering team, you will build and operate the foundation of Thomson Reuters’ search platform. Your work spans distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, search indexes, and lifecycle automation. The platform serves millions of end users, internal agents, and search teams across products and services.
Key Responsibilities: Design and own search system control plane lifecycle workflows
Automate Kubernetes, Kafka, ingestion, and data plane provisioning
Manage schema changes, reingestion, index switching, and rollback
Build tenant isolation, identity, access controls,



and audit history
Operate infrastructure, observability, SLOs, incidents, and post-mortems
Requirements: Eight or more years of software engineering experience
Staff-level scope and cross-functional project leadership experience
Production platform or infrastructure experience at scale
AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code experience
Vespa, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch operations experience
Bring distributed systems, search infrastructure, Kubernetes, and operational leadership to Thomson Reuters’ foundational control plane.
