Advise TD’s Insurance business in Toronto on insurance regulation, product matters, and practical legal solutions for clients. This 37.5-hour role supports cross-functional collaboration.
As Counsel II, you will provide business-focused advice covering individual and group life, health, travel, and creditor insurance. You will address federal and provincial requirements, product development, distribution, marketing, sales, and administration. The work involves close relationships with insurance, banking, and enterprise partners.
Key Responsibilities: Advise on insurance laws and regulatory requirements
Support product enhancements and strategic business initiatives
Review policies, disclosures, agreements, and marketing materials




Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions
Support regulatory inquiries and examinations
Requirements: Law degree and Canadian provincial bar membership
Major law firm or in-house legal experience preferred
Insurance, financial services, or regulatory law experience valued
Robust research, analysis, drafting, and communication skills
Sound judgment and ability to escalate higher-risk matters
Apply legal research, regulatory knowledge, and practical judgment while advising TD Insurance on evolving business needs.
