As a Data and ML Platform Engineer, you will control how data enters, runs through, and returns from Homebase’s platform. You will operate Kafka and Debezium pipelines, Spark streaming into Delta, Unity Catalog, warehouses, CI/CD, and DAB deployments. The role also includes cross-team partnership and shared on-call responsibility.
Key Responsibilities: Operate CDC pipelines with replay and restream capabilities
Maintain ingestion SLAs for streaming data
Manage data infrastructure through Terraform and CI/CD
Partner with engineering teams on reliable systems
Improve the team’s on-call experience over time
Requirements: Production experience with distributed streaming systems
Kafka and CDC experience
Infrastructure-as-code experience, ideally Terraform
Solid data modeling fundamentals
Comfort participating in an on-call schedule
Bring streaming, infrastructure-as-code, and platform ownership skills to Homebase’s data and AI engineering foundation.
