Hilton Garden Inn Edmonton Airport is a focused-service property committed to delivering a safe, clean, and welcoming experience for every guest. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Worker plays a key role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, and grounds are safe, fully operational, and well-maintained. This role requires hands-on technical skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond quickly to both routine and emergency situations. While the position is primarily scheduled Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, the Maintenance Attendant must also be available to respond to emergencies or urgent tasks on weekends, holidays and evenings when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform daily property checks, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house.
- Attend to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
- Carry out routine maintenance, including:
- Plumbing repairs (leaks, drains, toilets).
- Minor electrical work (light fixtures, outlets, switches).
- Thermostat adjustments, zone valves, and basic HVAC support.
- Carpentry, drywall, tiling, and painting.
- Renovation and repair projects in suites and common areas.
- Maintain hotel exterior and grounds:
- Lawn maintenance (grass cutting, trimming, spraying/removing weeds).
- Snow and ice removal (using shovel, blower, snow blower, salt application).
- Lot clean-ups, debris removal, gutter sweeping, and sprinkler system upkeep.
- Monitor and perform pest/rodent control as needed.




- Support hotel operations with preventative maintenance on laundry, kitchen, pool, HVAC, and other systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring issues to management.
- Performing some janitorial duties as needed.
- Other tasks/projects as assigned by General Manager or their delegates.

Qualifications

- Prior experience in residential, hotel, or commercial building maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry required.
- Familiarity with painting, tiling, drywall repair, and general handyman skills.
- Ability to safely operate power tools, snow blowers, and lawn equipment.
- Pool operator certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) is an asset.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, well-groomed, and reliable.
- Positive attitude, eager to learn, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Ability to handle stress & pressure

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
