Studio Manager — YYOGA Cambie
Location: 2893 Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC
Position: Full-time, salaried (40 hours per week)
Reports to: Studio Owner
Status: New studio opening
About the Opportunity
We're looking for a Studio Manager to help bring a new YYOGA community to life in Vancouver's Cambie neighbourhood.
This is an opportunity for an experienced, people-focused leader to play a meaningful role in launching and growing a new studio — building an exceptional team, creating a welcoming community, and establishing the culture and guest experience that will define the studio for years to come.
At YYOGA, we believe in creating communities for health and wellness where everyone feels welcome, supported, and inspired to grow.
As Studio Manager, you'll work closely with the Studio Owner to bring this vision to life. You'll be responsible for leading the team, growing the business, building relationships within the neighbourhood, and ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience.
We're looking for someone who combines strong people leadership with business acumen, initiative, and a genuine passion for bringing people together.
What You'll Do
1. Build and Lead an Exceptional Team
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and coach a high-performing Guest Experience team.
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and collaborative studio culture.
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, recognition, and performance support.
- Lead team scheduling, training, and day-to-day people management.
- Build strong working relationships with the teaching team and YYOGA's programming leadership.
- Create an environment where team members feel empowered, supported, and accountable.
2. Build the Community
- Be a visible, welcoming presence in the studio and an ambassador for YYOGA within the Cambie neighbourhood.
- Build meaningful relationships with guests, teachers, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, events, and local initiatives that strengthen YYOGA's presence in the community.
- Foster a sense of connection and belonging that encourages guests to return and deepen their practice.
- Listen to guest feedback and continuously look for ways to improve the studio experience.
- Help create a community that reflects the diversity and character of the neighbourhood.
3.
Grow the Business
- Take ownership of the studio's day-to-day business performance and contribute to its long-term success.
- Drive membership growth, guest retention, class attendance, and engagement.
- Lead the team in delivering sales and service goals while maintaining an authentic, guest-centred approach.
- Monitor key business metrics, identify opportunities, and implement initiatives to improve performance.
- Manage operating expenses and work within established budgets.
- Collaborate with the Studio Owner on business priorities, growth strategies, and continuous improvement.
4. Run an Exceptional Studio
- Oversee daily studio operations, ensuring a consistently high-quality guest experience.
- Maintain YYOGA's operating standards, policies, and brand experience.
- Ensure the studio is clean, welcoming, safe, and well-maintained.
- Manage staffing schedules, payroll approvals, retail inventory, supplies, and administrative processes.
- Coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and vendor relationships.
- Resolve guest concerns thoughtfully and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational requirements.
A Unique Chance: Launching YYOGA Cambie
As the Studio Manager of a new location, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the studio from the beginning.
During the pre-opening and launch period, you'll play an important role in:
- Recruiting and building the initial studio team.
- Establishing the culture, service standards, and operating rhythms.
- Supporting opening preparations and team readiness.
- Building awareness and relationships within the local community.
- Supporting launch activities, introductory offers, and early membership growth.
- Creating the foundation for a successful and sustainable studio.
Who You Are
You're a natural people leader who enjoys building teams, connecting with others, and creating great experiences.
You bring a combination of warmth, accountability, commercial awareness, and initiative. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also thinking about the bigger picture.
Ideally, you bring:
- At least two years of experience leading, coaching, or supervising teams, including hiring and development.
- Experience in hospitality, boutique fitness, wellness, retail, or another guest-focused business.
- Strong business instincts and an understanding of how to drive revenue, manage costs, and achieve goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine interest in building relationships and community.
- The ability to take initiative, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities.
- A collaborative leadership style balanced with the confidence to take ownership.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends based on studio needs, particularly during the launch period.
Experience in yoga, fitness, or wellness is an asset, but not essential. We're primarily looking for an exceptional people leader and community builder with strong business instincts.
Yoga teacher training or certifications in disciplines such as Pilates, YHot, or Yin are additional assets.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to help launch and shape a brand-new YYOGA studio.
- A meaningful leadership role with ownership of the studio's daily operations and business performance.
- The opportunity to build a team and community from the ground up.
- A collaborative working relationship with the Studio Owner and support from the established YYOGA network.
- A welcoming, health- and wellness-focused work environment.
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
