King Component Ltd., an established precision sheet metal fabrication company with over 35 years of experience, is seeking a highly skilled CNC Brake Press Lead Hand / Setup Mechanic to join our manufacturing team.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional with extensive knowledge of Wysong and Allsteel press brakes, capable of independently setting up and forming complex, close-tolerance sheet metal components.

Our production environment specializes in high and low-volume manufacturing, requiring exceptional technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

This is a senior-level position intended for an experienced brake press mechanic, not an entry-level operator.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently set up, program, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate CNC and conventional brake presses.
- Manufacture complex, precision-formed sheet metal components in low-volume production runs.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bend specifications, and geometric tolerances.
- Consistently achieve tight dimensional tolerances of ±0.010", with tighter tolerances where specified and achievable.
- Select appropriate tooling, determine bend sequences, calculate bend allowances, and compensate for material springback.
- Perform first-off inspections and make necessary adjustments before production.
- Accurately use vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot complex forming challenges and develop effective manufacturing solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to junior brake press operators.
- Coordinate work assignments and assist with production scheduling to meet delivery commitments.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship,



productivity, and workplace safety.

Mandatory Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years of hands-on brake press setup and forming experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Wysong and Allsteel brake presses preferred.
- Proven ability to manufacture complicated, close-tolerance sheet metal parts independently.
- Extensive experience with low-volume, high-mix production and frequent machine setups.
- Excellent blueprint reading and dimensional inspection skills.
- Thorough understanding of bend deductions, material properties, tooling selection, and forming techniques.
- Ability to work accurately to ±0.010" tolerances.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous lead hand or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

We are seeking a true brake press setup mechanic and precision forming specialist, not someone whose experience is limited to loading material and operating pre-programmed machines.

The successful candidate must be capable of reviewing a drawing, selecting the correct tooling, determining the forming sequence, setting up the machine, and producing an accurate finished component independently.
