The Hidden Gem is looking for a Kitchen Lead to help guide and support our baking operations. Please note, only applicants with_ extensive commercial bakery experience _and/or pastry chef qualifications will be considered.

We’re a small, high-volume treat shop known for thoughtful details, beautiful product, and a warm, community-driven atmosphere. Our kitchen moves quickly—but it’s grounded in care, consistency, and pride in what we put out.

This is a key role in a growing business, with the opportunity to take on more ownership over time for the right person.

This role is for someone who doesn’t just bake—but notices, cares, and takes ownership.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

- Keeping daily baking operations running smoothly and predictably
- Making sure cake orders and custom requests are seen, responded to, and fulfilled
- Staying ahead of inventory so we never run out of key ingredients, packaging, or menu items
- Working efficiently and training other bakers to produce high volumes of product within scheduled shifts
- Supporting the baking team so prep stays on track and standards are upheld
- Maintaining consistency across recipes, batching, and presentation
- Catching gaps early and stepping in before they become problems

Position Details

- Part-time or full-time: 3–5 shifts per week
- 6–8 hour shifts
- Must be available for at least one weekend day
- $21–$24/hour (based on experience)
- Tips (range is between $5-10 per hour on top of your wage)
