Pay: From CA$40.00 per hour
Job description:
Senior Lead Glazier
Commercial Glazing | Saskatoon, SK | Full-time
$40+ per hour. $5,000 sign-on bonus. Company truck.
Founded in 1988, Acara Glass & Aluminum is a full service glass and aluminum company specializing in sales, service and installation in commercial and residential projects across Saskatchewan. We have commercial projects booked ahead and are adding a Senior Lead Glazier to our installation team.
What you will do
- Start new projects with the crew lead: plan the sequence and set the install pace
- Set quality standards from the beginning of the project and check in on the quality as the project progresses (sealant, hardware, alignment)
- Install alongside our crews: layout, frames, glass, storefront and curtain wall.
- Assist apprentices and junior installers: show quality installation methods and answer questions about ongoing projects
- Always have a pulse on the budgeted versus actual hours of each project and what needs to happen to keep them in line.
- Help keep projects on schedule and on budget by raising problems early with the project manager.
- Take site measurements for fabrication when needed.
- Keep sites safe and follow all company, contractor and OH&S; requirements.
What you bring
- 5 or more years of commercial glazing experience, including storefront and curtain wall.
- Experience mentoring or leading others, formal or informal. You do not need a supervisor title.
- Can read blueprints, specifications and shop drawings.
- Valid driver's licence.
- A leader: patient, clear and calm under pressure, and you solve problems instead of blaming people.
- Reliable: on time, follows through, and takes pride in quality work.
What we offer
- $40+ per hour
- $5,000 sign-on bonus
- Take-home company truck for work and your commute
- Comprehensive health benefits plan including dental, massage, chiro, etc.
- A senior field role on an experienced team
- Steady commercial work with projects booked ahead
