About the Clients:

We are seeking a compassionate caregiver for a family in North York caring for two individuals. The primary client is a woman in her 50s with multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosed in her mid-twenties, which affects her mobility and mental health. She was previously a high-functioning dietician and maintains her independence but requires supervision and assistance. She is mobile but walks slowly with a slight limp, does not use mobility aids indoors, and wears supportive footwear. She can toilet independently but needs someone nearby during showers and when dressing. She feeds herself and communicates well, though frustration can sometimes affect her mood. The secondary client is her mother, a bright 91-year-old with mobility challenges who needs help with bathing, dressing, and navigating stairs. Both clients live together in the same home with family support during weekdays.

Responsibilities:

- Provide supervision and standby assistance during showers and personal care routines
- Assist with dressing and getting organized for daily activities
- Support with mobility throughout the home, including stair navigation for the grandmother
- Light housekeeping and tidying
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Accompany clients on outings via taxi or Uber (caregiver will call transportation and submit receipts)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Maintain a calm, patient presence and adapt to the clients' needs

What We're Looking For:

- Experience working with clients who have MS or mobility challenges




- Patience and understanding when working with clients adjusting to loss of independence
- Ability to provide respectful, dignity-focused care
- Comfortable managing care for two clients simultaneously in the same household
- Reliable, consistent, and punctual
- Robust communication skills and ability to follow family preferences
- Flexibility to grow with the family as care needs evolve

Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour break (8 hours per day). The family is looking to start in approximately two weeks and values consistency with the same caregiver each week.
