Garden City Groundskeeping Services Ltd. and Toronto Artificial Grass Corp. provide landscape maintenance, construction, artificial turf installation, and snow removal services throughout the GTA.

We take pride in delivering quality work, building strong teams, and continuously improving our operations. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our field teams and oversee daily operations.

The Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all landscape, installation, maintenance, and snow removal operations. This includes scheduling, project management, team leadership, client communication, job costing, and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Scheduling

- Coordinate and manage weekly schedules for all field crews.
- Lead weekly operations and scheduling meetings.
- Ensure crews, equipment, materials, and job packages are ready for each project.
- Coordinate with Sales and Estimating to ensure smooth project handoffs.

Project & Financial Management

- Oversee projects from preparation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Monitor job costing, weekly revenue, labour hours, and gross profit margins.
- Resolve operational challenges and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Source materials, equipment, and subcontractors cost-effectively.

Team Leadership

- Lead, coach, and support supervisors and field crews.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and morale.
- Promote a safe, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

Continuous Improvement & Client Relations

- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and address concerns promptly.




- Conduct site visits and quality checks to ensure work meets company standards.

Winter Operations

- Oversee snow removal operations, including crew scheduling and dispatch during winter weather events.
- Be available to manage weather-dependent operations, including overnight shifts and extended hours when required.

Performance Expectations

The Operations Manager will be accountable for:

- Meeting weekly revenue and annual business targets.
- Maintaining project profitability and controlling labour costs.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintaining accurate and timely crew schedules.
- Ensuring proper project preparation and client communication.
- Developing operational procedures and providing regular staff training.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

- 5+ years of management experience in landscaping, construction, snow removal, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership, scheduling, and project management skills.
- Experience with job costing, budgeting, and financial performance tracking.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and operational software such as LMN.
- Valid G driver's licence (AR/DZ licence considered an asset).

Working Conditions

- Full-time, year-round position combining office work, site visits, and client interactions.
- Summer operations generally run Monday to Friday, with early starts and occasional weekend work.
- Winter operations are weather-dependent and may require extended hours, overnight shifts, and dispatch responsibilities.
