STORE MANAGER – HOT TUB, POOL & GARDEN CENTRE

Position Overview

Gold Coast Landscaping Inc. is seeking an experienced, motivated and customer-focused Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Hot Tub, Pool & Garden Centre retail division.

This is a full-time, year-round management position responsible for leading store operations, supervising employees, driving sales, managing inventory and purchasing, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience across our hot tub, pool, water care and garden centre departments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager with strong leadership, organizational and sales skills who enjoys working directly with customers and employees. They should be comfortable managing multiple departments, solving problems, making decisions and ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably.

This position combines retail management, sales, purchasing, inventory control, customer service, office coordination and general store operations.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Store Management & Staff Leadership

- Oversee daily store and garden centre operations, ensuring the business runs efficiently and professionally.
- Supervise, schedule, train and support employees while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Delegate daily responsibilities and ensure employees provide excellent customer service.
- Manage staffing requirements and ensure appropriate coverage during busy and seasonal periods.

2. Sales & Customer Service

- Lead sales efforts across hot tubs, pools, water-care products, parts, accessories and garden centre merchandise.
- Assist customers with product selection, purchases, hot tub options and general product questions.
- Oversee in-store water testing and provide customers with appropriate water chemistry recommendations.
- Handle customer concerns, complaints and service requests.




- Encourage additional sales and identify opportunities to increase revenue.

3. Purchasing & Inventory Management

- Oversee product ordering, purchasing, receiving, pricing and inventory control.
- Maintain supplier and manufacturer relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels, product costs and retail pricing to maintain appropriate stock and profit margins.
- Coordinate seasonal purchasing and garden centre inventory.
- Manage supplier invoices, returns, credits and manufacturer warranty claims.

4. Financial & Administrative Management

- Monitor daily sales, store performance and department profitability.
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, sales, refunds and returns.
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing decisions and expense management.
- Coordinate customer orders, order preparation and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary administrative duties using company software, Microsoft Word, Excel and email.

5. Marketing & Store Presentation

- Maintain an attractive, organized and properly stocked retail store and garden centre.
- Oversee product displays, signage, pricing and overall store presentation.
- Coordinate and implement seasonal promotions, advertising and social media activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase store traffic, sales and product visibility.

Skills & Qualifications

- Previous retail management or supervisory experience required.
- Previous retail sales and customer service experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.
- Sales-oriented with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Good organizational,



problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with purchasing, inventory management and supplier relationships.
- Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and working independently.
- Basic computer skills, including POS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
- Experience with hot tubs, pools, water chemistry, gardening or landscaping is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of sales, pricing and profit margins.

Requirements

- Full time, year-round availability.
- Must be available to work weekdays and provide weekend and holiday coverage as required (during peak Garden Centre season).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor retail environments.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willingness to learn and follow proper product handling and workplace safety procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

- Competitive annual salary of $60,000–$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our retail operations and confidently manage the store on a day-to-day basis.

The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, sales-driven and capable of leading a team while remaining hands-on with customers and daily store responsibilities.

This is a leadership position, not simply a sales position. We are looking for someone who can manage the people, products, inventory, customer experience and overall performance of our retail division.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
