Job Description

New Capital Roadways Ltd. is seeking 10 reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our growing transportation team in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently over long distances throughout Canada and the United States while maintaining compliance with all applicable transportation and safety regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Operate and drive tractor-trailers and other commercial transport vehicles to transport goods over long distances.
- Plan routes and schedules using maps, GPS, and other trip-planning tools.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and transported safely.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo, mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and road conditions.
- Comply with federal, provincial, and state transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD)



records and comply with Hours of Service requirements.
- Report vehicle defects, mechanical issues, accidents, and delays to management.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure equipment is in secure operating condition.

Employment Requirements

- Valid Class 1 driver's license or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of commercial truck driving experience preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices and GPS equipment.
- Ability to travel long distances throughout Canada and the United States.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as a team driver and follow company safety procedures.

Pay Rate

Single 0.62/MI
Team 0.70/MI

Pay: $0.58-$0.62 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 – 70.0 per week

Licence/Certification:

- Class 1 Licence (preferred)
