Become a Line Cook / Prep Cook at Peter Lougheed Dining Hall at the U of A!

Terms of Employment:

- Full Time and Part Time positions available
- Weekdays
- Some Weekends
- Responsibilities for Prep Cook:
- Washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing fruits and vegetables.
- Measuring and mixing ingredients in accordance with the chef's instructions.
- Marinating meats and preparing seafood.
- Organizing and maintaining cleanliness in food storage areas.
- Ensuring all food items are stored properly to maintain freshness and comply with regulations.
- Assisting in inventory management and restocking kitchen supplies.
- Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any malfunctions.
- Responsibilities for Grill/Line Cook:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Work behind the Line serving Customers
- Working the Grill/Flattop
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations




- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- May set up and oversee buffets
- May clean kitchen and work area
- May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
- May train kitchen staff.

- Previous experience in a Food Services Role is an asset
