Construction Surveyor — Civil Site Servicing

Full-time | Lower Mainland, BC

Hexcel Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to support our civil site servicing projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

Operating our mobile survey van, you’ll travel between jobsites to provide construction layout, establish grades and elevations, and help crews plan upcoming work from a survey perspective. You’ll work closely with site forepersons and project teams to translate construction drawings into accurate, practical direction in the field.

This role suits someone who enjoys working independently, coordinating with multiple crews, and solving problems that keep construction moving safely and efficiently.

What you’ll do

- Operate our mobile survey van and coordinate site visits across active projects.
- Perform construction layout for underground utilities, roads, and other civil site servicing work.
- Establish and verify survey control, lines, grades, and elevations using GPS, robotic total stations, and levelling equipment.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and design information.
- Help crews plan work sequences, understand grade requirements, and identify potential layout or elevation conflicts before installation.
- Communicate layout information clearly to forepersons, operators, and site crews.
- Check completed work and collect field measurements and as-built information.




- Maintain accurate survey records and keep equipment organized and in good working condition.
- Coordinate survey priorities with project teams as site needs change.
- Follow site safety procedures and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

What you’ll bring

- Experience in construction surveying for civil site servicing, including underground utilities and road construction.
- A diploma or certificate in Geomatics or Survey Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and levelling equipment.
- A strong understanding of construction drawings, survey control, grades, and elevations.
- The ability to identify discrepancies and work with project teams to resolve them.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage survey requests across multiple jobsites.
- Clear communication skills and a practical, collaborative approach.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between Lower Mainland jobsites.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
