Project Manager – Mass Timber Construction

We're looking for a driven, commercially savvy Project Manager to join a high-performing construction team delivering innovative mass timber installation projects across North America, including Canada and the USA.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from award through to closeout, working with an experienced team on exciting, large-scale and sustainable structures.
Based in the Cowichan Valley, this business offers something a little different: a Monday to Thursday working week, a genuinely collaborative office culture and the opportunity to work on projects across two countries.
The Opportunity
You'll take the lead on project delivery, owning scope, schedule and budget across fixed-price contracts. You'll be responsible for:
- Driving project execution, scheduling, forecasting and financial performance.
- Managing contracts, change orders, procurement and client relationships.
- Coordinating general contractors, consultants, suppliers and site crews.
- Identifying project risks early and driving practical solutions.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and delivery.
- Providing clear project reporting and leading post-project reviews.
North American exposure: Projects span across Canada and the United States. There is an opportunity for occasional travel, typically 4–8 trips per year, for those who enjoy getting out to sites and seeing projects come to life.
Travel is not a requirement for the right candidate.
What You'll Bring
- Construction project management experience, subcontracting environment would is considered.
- A proven track record delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- Strong commercial awareness, contract administration and change management skills.
- Confident communication and negotiation abilities.
- Experience with scheduling software, Excel and financial ERP systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to take ownership.
Mass timber or structural steel experience is a significant asset, although strong construction installation knowledge and an understanding of structural materials will also be considered.
A degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or a PMP designation, would be an asset.
