Job Overview:

Working in an energetic; fast paced environment, your focus will be creating accurate roof layouts for residential or commercial buildings using digital drawings and 3-D drafting software.

Training Provided: Position recognized by professional associations. Support by in-house Technologists and Engineers. Structured program, with 3 month and 6 month milestones.

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., occasional paid over-time is required to meet deadlines

Responsibilities and Duties:

Developing and revising truss layout designs using MiTek SAPPHIRE software.

Review project information and schematics, checking dimensions and design details for clarity and consistency.

Creating structural component designs for engineers to seal and production to manufacture.

Communicating and working between departments to coordinate projects.

Communication with architects and engineers when necessary for specific design requirements.

Interpret construction plans, building supplies plans and information, apply these files for quotes and production.

Perform other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:





Graduate from an architectural, civil or construction engineering technology program

Knowledge of Ontario Building Code is required.

Knowledge of CMHA Canadian Wood-Frame Construction Manual.

Extremely detail oriented.

Punctual

Functional math and computer skills.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline focused environment.

Understanding decision making process.

Excellent professional work ethic

Must have a positive attitude and be a team player to support the team with demands and deadlines.

Have a creative mindset and be able to think outside of the box.

Work experience in the construction or engineering and truss industry is an asset.

MiTek SAPPHIRE software experience is an asset.

Understanding of Truss Plant Institute of Canada is an asset.

Pay: $48,000.00 per year
