Position Overview

We are seeking qualified and experienced Cardiac Sonography Instructors (Echocardiography) for our next anticipated cohort, expected to begin in early 2027, to deliver theoretical and practical instruction in our Diagnostic Medical Sonography – Cardiac program.

Candidates should have strong clinical experience, teaching skills, and familiarity with Sonography Canada NCP 7.0 and CMRITO Standards of Practice.

Teaching Areas

Candidates should have experience teaching one or more of the following subjects:

- Professional Practice
- Ultrasound Physics I & II
- Introduction to Adult Echocardiography
- Cardiac Scanning I & II
- Applied Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology
- Congenital Heart Disease I & II
- Pathology and Function of the Adult Heart
- ECG Interpretation for Sonography
- Patient Management
- Valvular Disease

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver online and/or in-person theoretical instruction.




- Conduct and supervise hands-on cardiac ultrasound scanning labs.
- Prepare lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, and instructional materials.
- Develop quizzes, assignments, midterm and final examinations, including answer keys.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain student attendance and academic progress records.
- Ensure teaching aligns with the approved curriculum and Sonography Canada NCP 7.0.
- Participate in faculty meetings and curriculum reviews as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Registered with Sonography Canada and in good standing with CMRITO.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical and/or teaching experience in cardiac sonography or echocardiography.
- Solid knowledge of cardiac ultrasound procedures, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Previous teaching, clinical training, or student supervision experience.
- Familiarity with Sonography Canada NCP 7.0 and CMRITO Standards of Practice.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
- Ability to develop teaching materials and student assessments.
