Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Private Residence

Location: Private home in Barrhaven East (off of Prince of Wales).

Position Type: Full-time or Part-time(split- shift), specific hour required (mornings and evenings). 6:30-7am to 9am (morning routine), 4pm to 8:30pm (evening routine).

Start Date: Immediately or as agreed upon

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide in-home care for two seniors in a private residence. The ideal candidate will support daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and a safe, comfortable environment. One senior has advanced Parkinson’s. He moves very slowly and requires the constant assistance of one person to move around the home.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required
- Administer or remind clients to take medications as directed
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Perform light housekeeping duties (bathroom tidiness, bed making)




- Monitor and report changes in physical or cognitive health
- Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments if needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful home environment

Qualifications:

- PSW certificate or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a home setting
- Knowledge of safe lifting and transfer techniques
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor

Additional Requirements:

- Ability to work independently in a private home setting
- Criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening)
- Valid driver’s license/Vehicle required

Working Conditions:

- Flexible hours, morning and evenings required for helping with breakfast and dinner and bed routine.
- Physically demanding at times (lifting, assisting with mobility)

Compensation:
