Spire Mechanical

Burnaby

Spire Mechanical Ltd. is a growing commercial HVAC contractor serving projects throughout the Lower Mainland. Our work includes commercial and institutional HVAC construction, sheet metal installation, equipment replacements, air distribution systems, and mechanical service support.

We are looking for a dependable Commercial Sheet Metal Technician who takes pride in clean workmanship, can work productively as part of a field team, and wants an opportunity to grow with the company.

What You’ll Be Doing

Install commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings, plenums, transitions, dampers, grilles, registers, diffusers, and related air distribution components.

Lay out, measure, cut, assemble, hang, seal, and support sheet metal systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and site conditions.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, shop drawings, details, specifications, and field instructions.

Install spiral, rectangular, and specialty duct systems, including TDC/TDF-style connections and standard commercial fittings.

Complete rooftop, mechanical room, ceiling-space, shaft, and equipment connection work while maintaining a clean and professional installation.

Coordinate field routing and installation with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler, controls, insulation, and general contractor teams.

Identify material requirements, installation conflicts, and field issues early and communicate them clearly to the project lead.

Maintain quality, productivity, housekeeping, and secure work practices on active commercial construction sites.

Support apprentices and junior team members when required and contribute to a positive, accountable crew culture.

What We’re Looking For

Commercial sheet metal experience is required; journeypersons and experienced apprentices are encouraged to apply.

Strong understanding of duct installation hangers/supports, fittings, equipment connections,

and commercial construction practices.

Ability to work from drawings and complete field layout with limited supervision.

Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and within active construction environments.

Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsites throughout the Lower Mainland.

Own basic hand tools appropriate for the trade.

Red Seal / Certificate of Qualification, Fall Protection, First Aid, lift tickets, and other construction safety training are considered assets.

Why Join Spire Mechanical?

Work on a variety of commercial and institutional HVAC projects rather than repetitive residential production work.

Join a small, growing mechanical contractor where strong field performance is noticed and good people have room to advance.

Opportunity to develop toward Lead Hand, Foreperson, site coordination, commissioning, estimating, or project management roles as experience grows.

Support for apprenticeship development, trade training, manufacturer training, and continued technical growth.

A practical team environment focused on quality installations, communication, accountability, and building long-term client relationships.

This position is well suited to someone who is reliable, productive, and professional on site. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your work, asking questions before problems grow, and representing Spire Mechanical well with general contractors, consultants, clients, and other trades.

The Ideal Candidate

A commercial sheet metal installer who can show up prepared, read the job, plan the work, install it cleanly, coordinate with the crew, and help move the project forward.

Pay: $42.00-$60.00 per hour

Benefits:

- Company car
- Company events
- Dental care
- Extended health care
- RRSP match

Experience:

- Commercial Sheet Metal: 5 years (required)
