Job Overview

CUTS BY MEDIUM RARE is seeking energetic, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our rapid-paced restaurant team.

While this position is primarily focused on cashiering and customer service, it is a multi-functional restaurant role requiring team members to work across both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations.

Successful candidates must be willing and able to perform a variety of duties, including taking orders, handling payments, food preparation, cooking, grilling, assembling orders, cleaning, and supporting daily kitchen operations.

We operate as a team-oriented quick-service restaurant where flexibility, efficiency, and teamwork are essential. All team members are expected to assist wherever needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations, maintain food quality, and deliver an excellent customer experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Front of House (FOH)

- Greet customers professionally and provide friendly, efficient service.
- Accurately take customer orders and process payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment methods responsibly.
- Answer customer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and promotions.
- Recommend menu items, combos, upgrades, and add-ons to increase sales.
- Ensure orders are accurate, properly packaged, and delivered promptly.
- Address customer concerns professionally and communicate issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter, service stations, and customer-facing areas.

Kitchen Operations & Back of House (BOH)

- Assist with food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, marinating, and preparing ingredients according to restaurant standards.
- Operate grills, fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.




- Cook and prepare menu items according to established recipes, cooking procedures, and quality standards.
- Assemble, package, and present food orders accurately and consistently.
- Monitor cooking times, food temperatures, and portion sizes to maintain quality and food safety.
- Assist with ingredient preparation, stocking, food storage, and inventory rotation.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, allergen management, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized cooking stations, preparation areas, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with dishwashing, equipment cleaning, garbage disposal, and other routine kitchen maintenance duties.

General Restaurant Operations

- Perform opening, closing, and shift-change duties as assigned.
- Restock ingredients, packaging supplies, condiments, and other operational materials.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including FOH and BOH areas.
- Follow company policies, food safety regulations, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Support team members during peak periods by moving between cashier, food preparation, cooking, grilling, and order assembly stations.
- Complete additional restaurant-related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous experience in fast food, quick-service restaurants, food courts, food preparation, or customer service is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service while working efficiently under pressure.




- Willingness to be cross-trained and actively work in both FOH and BOH positions.
- Comfortable learning to operate commercial kitchen equipment, including grills and fryers, with appropriate training.
- Basic math skills and accuracy when handling customer transactions.
- Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical tasks associated with restaurant operations.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and personal hygiene.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food safety certification is an asset.

Important Position Expectations

This is not an exclusively cashier or front-counter position.

All employees hired for this role are expected to be flexible, cross-trained, and willing to participate in all aspects of restaurant operations, including customer service, cashiering, food preparation, cooking, grilling, cleaning, and other kitchen responsibilities.

Team members may be assigned to different workstations throughout their shifts based on operational needs, business volume, training, and applicable workplace safety requirements.

The ability to contribute effectively to both FOH and BOH operations is an essential requirement of this position.
