Terms of Employment

- 8 - 12 hours per day, with a minimum of 5 days per week. In critical times, it may be 7 days per week
- All hours will be straight time
- The position is full-time seasonal, and will start in March or April, depending on the weather

Wages & Benefits

- $22.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
- No other benefits are offered

Responsibilities

- Tending an orchard
- Trellis System: building new as well as repair and maintenance of the existing
- Irrigation: building new as well as repair and maintenance of the existing
- Tree Planting: New plantings and removal & replanting of existing orchards as required
- Fencing: Erecting new as well as repair and maintenance of the existing
- Mixing and applying spray
- Assisting junior spray operators
- Fertilizing
- Tree Training
- Pruning
- Blowing / Drying / Frost Fighting
- Reflective Mats / Plastic: Laying and removing
- Mowing / Mulching




- Harvest
- Thinning
- Seeding / Groundwork
- Tree removal and replanting
- Repair and maintenance of all equipment, tools and buildings
- Install new misting system in all orchards, and repair and maintain the existing

Cattle farm

- Calving
- Feeding and watering the cattle
- Haying
- Fencing
- Ditch maintenance
- Equipment use and maintenance – tractors, mowers, ladders etc
- Mowing / Mulching
- General repairs, maintenance and upkeep

Qualifications and Skills

- High School Diploma an asset
- Knowledge of and experience with Fruit Farming is required
- Equipment experience is an asset
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather - warm, cold, rain, snow
