Are you an experienced Housekeeper/Laundry Aide with a heart for senior care? At Plan A York, we are seeking new energetic, experienced, and knowledgeable team members. As a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide you are responsible for completing daily tasks to ensure the housekeeping and laundry processes operate effectively, without interruption. Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, you will be highly organized and efficient. If you are ready to help shape the future of senior care, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Bring!

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Clean and disinfect resident rooms, washrooms, spa rooms, hallways, and shared spaces.
- Empty waste receptacles.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Clean and disinfect nursing stations, clinical and non-clinical spaces, and office space. Apply wet floor signage as needed.
- Operate vacuum, scrubber, stripping, and polishing floor machines.
- Wash and dry laundry following instructions for machine operations.
- Sort and fold and hang personal clothing and put on linen cart for delivery.
- Collect/receive laundry and sort according to type, condition, and weight. Follow specific instructions for treatment of soiled linens. Separate loads according to classification.
- Observe operation of machines and report malfunctions to Supervisor. Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies.




- Advise Supervisor of inventory levels of chemicals and linen shortages.
- Follow job routine.

What We Are Looking For:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma required.
- Minimum 1 year of housekeeping or laundry experience in an institutional setting
- Understanding of infection prevention and control
- Tuberculosis testing within the last two years; Steps 1 & 2; or an X-Ray from the previous five years showing a clear result.
- Proof of current immunizations according to Plan A policy.
- Able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
