Director, Finance
Help build Canada’s next global success story.
We are hiring for one of Canada’s fastest-growing technology companies, recognized by Deloitte as the #1 Enterprise Software company in the 2025 North American Technology Fast 500 and ranked #5 in Deloitte Canada’s 2024 Technology Fast 50 Companies to Watch.
This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to join a high-growth Canadian technology company at a pivotal stage of its journey, with a clear path toward a future VP-level role.
We are looking for someone who has been there before—a leader who has helped companies scale, strengthen financial processes, build capable teams, navigate complexity, and evolve a finance function as a business moves into its next chapter.
You will work closely with the VP Finance, CEO, fellow Directors, and senior leadership team in a highly collaborative environment where Finance is a strategic partner to the business.
This is an opportunity to help shape what comes next.
The Mandate
As Director, Finance, you will lead and strengthen the day-to-day finance function to support continued growth across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Reporting to the VP Finance, you will be responsible for building scalable financial processes, improving reporting and controls, and ensuring leaders have the financial insight needed to make sound commercial decisions. This role is hands-on, highly visible, and offers a clear path toward a broader VP-level mandate as the company continues to scale.
Your mandate will include:
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, including accounting operations, month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, billing oversight, and financial controls.
- Manage, coach, and develop the finance team, including accounting and financial planning resources.
- Strengthen financial processes, controls, governance, documentation, and reporting standards as the company expands.
- Oversee controllership activities, including financial statements, balance-sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition support, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit readiness.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and support ongoing forecasting, reforecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Develop clear reporting and KPI dashboards that provide leadership with visibility into revenue, margins, operating costs, cash flow, and business performance.
- Turn financial and operational data into practical insights that support stronger decision-making across the business.
- Partner with operational leaders to assess financial performance, identify cost pressures, improve margins, and evaluate business opportunities.
- Support cash-flow management, working-capital planning, treasury activities, and capital requirements in partnership with the VP Finance.
- Improve finance systems, billing workflows, reporting processes, and automation to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
- Support the preparation of materials for board reporting, investor updates, strategic planning, and external stakeholders.
- Assist with financial analysis for new markets, products, partnerships, pricing decisions, and other growth initiatives.
- Work closely with external advisors, auditors, banking partners, tax providers, and other financial stakeholders as required.
- Escalate material risks, variances, control issues, and financial concerns to the VP Finance in a timely manner.
- Ensure the finance function can operate efficiently and reliably while maintaining the appropriate level of oversight and alignment with leadership.
Who You Are
- You are an experienced finance leader who understands what it takes to support a business through significant growth.
- You have worked in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where systems, processes, and teams needed to mature alongside the business.
- You combine strong technical finance capability with commercial judgment and a practical understanding of how the business operates.
- You know how to improve financial discipline without creating unnecessary complexity or slowing down decision-making.
- You are comfortable moving between detail-oriented work—such as reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and controls—and broader business planning.
- You build strong relationships across functions and can translate financial information into clear, practical business recommendations.
- You are organized, accountable, and able to lead multiple priorities with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- You bring a collaborative, low-ego leadership style and are comfortable constructively challenging assumptions when needed.
- You are motivated by the opportunity to build processes, develop people, and help a business scale responsibly.
You Bring
- Significant finance leadership experience in a high-growth technology, SaaS, platform, or technology-enabled business.
- Strong experience in controllership, accounting operations, financial reporting, FP&A;, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
- A track record of improving finance processes, controls, reporting quality, and operating discipline in a scaling organization.
- Experience managing and developing finance professionals, including accounting, reporting, and planning team members.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and commercial skills, with the ability to connect financial performance to operational drivers.
- Experience supporting month-end, year-end, audit preparation, financial statements, and multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction operations.
- Experience supporting cash flow, working capital, billing integrity, and margin analysis.
- Comfort with finance systems, ERPs, billing platforms, reporting tools, and automation initiatives.
- The ability to work closely with senior leadership while maintaining the independence to own and improve the finance function.
- Experience thriving in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and the organization is actively scaling.
- CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
Why This Role
You will join at a moment when the company has significant momentum and an even bigger ambition.
You will have the opportunity to build, influence, and grow alongside the business, working with a leadership team that values collaboration, ownership, and people who know how to turn ambition into execution.
This role is designed for a finance leader who wants meaningful ownership. You will help strengthen the financial foundation of the company, develop the team and processes beneath you, and ensure the organization has the reporting, controls, and commercial insight needed to scale with confidence.
For the right leader, this role is more than the next step in finance. It is an opportunity to shape the finance function, influence business decisions, build a high-performing team, and grow into a broader VP-level mandate as the company scales.
If you have helped build and strengthen finance functions before and are ready to help build what comes next, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Build something extraordinary. Build something Canada can be proud of.
