About the Client:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced caregiver for a gentleman living with Parkinson's disease in Ottawa. He experiences discomfort, mobility challenges requiring use of a cane or walker, and incontinence. His spouse has been providing 4-8 hours of daily care but needs overnight support to rest and maintain her own wellbeing. The client requires assistance during nighttime hours when symptoms and care needs are most challenging.

Responsibilities:

The caregiver will provide overnight care from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, remaining awake and alert throughout the shift. Primary duties include assisting with incontinence care and changing as needed during the night, helping the client reposition in bed for comfort due to Parkinson's-related stiffness and discomfort, providing mobility support when the client needs to get up, and monitoring the client's safety and wellbeing throughout the night. The caregiver will be stationed in the client's bedroom on a chair to ensure immediate response when assistance is needed. This role requires patience, gentleness, and attentiveness to the client's needs as they arise during overnight hours.

What We're Looking For:

We need a PSW with demonstrated experience caring for individuals with Parkinson's disease who understands the unique challenges this condition presents. The ideal candidate is patient, gentle, calm, and comfortable providing personal care including incontinence management. You must be able to remain awake and alert during overnight shifts and respond promptly to the client's needs.



Consistency is essential - we are looking for someone who can commit to a regular schedule and build a trusting relationship with the client, as individuals with Parkinson's benefit greatly from familiar caregivers who understand their routine and preferences. Bonded and insured PSWs only.

Schedule:

Overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three nights per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is a three-month commitment with the same consistent caregiver for all scheduled shifts. Start date is versatile but ideally beginning the week of November 10th, 2026.
